Sensitive topics can come up easily when meeting, hosting or staying with people you haven't met before, or even when volunteering to improve Trustroots. This article is an attempt at creating some useful starting points that may help.

Politics

In many places it can be better to avoid talking about politics. For example, when staying with people in Israel or in the Balkans, it's really better to steer away from discussing politics.

This can also change over time. Over time the United States has become a lot more polarized politically, meaning that the difference between various sides of the political spectrum has become so big that it's really better to avoid talking politics.
