CouchSurfer (TM) vs surfer vs BeWelcomer vs ? ...

A current the definition of 'couchsurfer' is almost synonymous with a person who uses a hospitality network to travel or alternatively an active member of a hospitality exchange community. However, this leads to problems trying to use neutral language on a this wiki - CouchSurfer (TM) is a registered trademark of the couchsurfing corporation. How should we (and how should we advise other editors) to refer to a person who uses a hospitality network to travel or a an active member of said community (without using a registered trademark)? Is it appropriate, for example, to call a person who uses BeWelcome to travel a BeWelcomer? Or could we refer to them both generally as surfers? TM? Bram Van wrote Couch Surfer in 1996. I don't give a rat's **s about the TM but I wouldn't mind using another word either. I think "guest" and "host" are fine usually, these words have been literally around for thousands of years, so why not use them? :) guaka (talk) 02:18, 8 March 2013 (CET)
