Welcome to Rural Hospitality Bulgaria

Please read through the guide and hopefully by following the links you will be able to have a great experience in the Rural Areas of Bulgaria :)

Introduction

Bulgaria is bordered on the east by the Black Sea and the Danube in the north. A country of 7 million people it now has more than 70% of the population living in Urban areas. Bulgaria has been settled since ancient times and has seen many cultures and people come and go, from Turks to the Austro-Hungarian Empire and this coloured history has left behind a diverse culture.

In more recent times collectivization and de-collectivization has had a significant impact on the land and the people in Rural areas.

Definition

Nearly all of the farmers in the countryside would be considered rural - whether they are on a 1 hectare farm to a 100 hectare farm. But the question is, how do you define a village in Bulgaria?
