Besançon est une ville aussi sympathique que méconnue située dans l'est de la France. C'est la préfecture du département du Doubs (25) et de la région Franche-Comté. Une fois à Besançon, on n'est plus très loin de la Suisse et de l'Allemagne!

La ville est surnommée "Besac", et ses habitant sont des Bisontin(e)s.

Les Canapeurs locaux sont proches de leurs camarades de Belfort, Neuchatel (Suisse) et de Bourgogne.

Besançon is a nice city in the East of France (département : Doubs - 25 ; région : Franche-Comté). It's close to Switzerland and Germany.

Its nickname is "Besac" ; the inhabitants are called "Bisontin(e)s".

The CouchSurfers are strongly connected with fellows from Belfort, Neuchatel and Bourgogne.

Les Canapeurs Bisontins ont l'habitude de se réunir relativement régulièrement le jeudi soir.

Les lieux de RV, thèmes et modalités sont discutées sur le groupe Franche-Comté.

Ce groupe regroupe aussi d'autres RV festifs, notamment à Belfort.

CouchSurfers fellows from Besançon usually meet on Thursday evenings.

All issues about these meetings are discussed in the Franche-Comté group.

How could I reach Besançon?

Hitch-hikking
Good spots available under the Citadelle, close from the "tunnel".
N57 (East): to Pontarlier, Switzerland (Lausanne, Geneva)...
N83 (West) : to Lons-le-Saunier, Lyon...

Train
Besançon-Viotte is the main railway station. It's close to the city center (10 mn by foot).

Besançon-Mouillère is a small station in the eastern part of Besançon, on the road to Morteau and Switzerland. It's also 10 mn by foot from the city center.

You can book your ticket in advance (often cheaper) on SNCF website.
