WHAT TO VISIT ?

There is a lot to see in Montparnasse though it is certainly not the most beautiful area of Paris. La Tour Montparnasse with its 210m the most striking building in the quartier, offers a great view over the city. Costs are around 10€, including a 40 second ride in the elevator. One place to visit is the Cimetiére Montparnasse where amongst others Charles Baudelaire, Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir and Samuel Beckett are buried.

Nices places to see in the 14th Discrit :

• The Montsouris Park near the 13th disctrict.
• The Cité Internationale Universitaire de Paris
• The catacombs (the entry is Place Denfert Rochereau)
• Rue Daguerre, which is a nice where you will find food of all sorts

• La Chopotte, 168 Rue d'Alésia 75014 Paris - 01 45 43 16 16. Excellent beef meats and good wines too. About 20-30 euros for 1 person.
• Les Tontons, 38 Rue Raymond Losserand, Paris - 01 43 21 69 45. All sorts of tartare steak.
• Le 14 Juillet, 99 rue Didot, 75014 Paris - 01 40 44 91 19.
• Café Rubis, 165, Avenue du Maine, 75014 Paris.
• Aux petits chandeliers, 62 rue Daguerre 75014 Paris - 01 43 20 25 87. Very good food from Reunion island. Nice fruit juices too. About 20-30 euros for 1 person.

Nightlife

You will find the Red Light, a well known night club, under the Montparnasse tower. THe Mix, another night club, is only a few meters away from the Red Light.
