I'd like to move this template to "template:regional header" for 2 reasons: * more consistent naming * afaik "region" would be a better naming than "state" Midsch 19:11, 11 January 2010 (UTC) The name `region' is the name I would use in Italian. Although I called it `state' for two reasons: # the `region' name is used for Europe (e.g. the region of Italy is Europe) in this wiki. # it can be used for countries organised in states or provinces or laender, like USA, Germany, Argentina, India, Canada, Brazil and so on. That said, I have no problem whatsoever with the `regional_header' name. I was just looking for an intermediate structure between Country and City (basically for not having the 20 regions and the 100+ provinces of Italy all linked in the `Italy' header.) Trave 21:33, 11 January 2010 (UTC) Hmm, you're right about "region" (though we don't have/need a template for them) here in this wiki. I also thought about a level between Country and City, but thought "state" is maybe to strong, as it is somehow official. For Usablity it's maybe usefull to summarize several smaller areas on one page ... but let's not stop ourselves by this, I just rename it state_header for consistence. Midsch 20:53, 13 January 2010 (UTC) == State template from CouchSurfing wiki == I have found that in CS wiki there is already a «state» template, I just copied it here for not reinventing the wheel. It stays on the right side, so it can be used at the same time of the «country» template without cluttering too much the page. I let to you the decision about the name: in the other wiki is just Template:State. Changing back the name would make easier the copy-paste of pages back and forth the two wikis, but I am perfectly ok with State_Header. Also, being a wiki illitterate, I wonder if it possible to put a redirect so that both names could be valid. Thanks Trave 15:39, 13 September 2010 (UTC) Besides the fact that this here already _was_ a state template, copying between these to Wikis isn't easy as they have no compatible licence. So just copying the template is probably not wise. Actually I don't like this version too much anyway as it messes up the layout and I <s>tend to undo</s> have undone the edit.
