===== Pourquoi le 8 dĂ©cembre ? ===== En 1852, les notables lyonnais dĂ©cident dâĂ©riger une statue de la Vierge Marie en or sur la Basilique de FourviĂšre qui nâĂ©tait alors quâune chapelle. Lâinauguration devait avoir lieu le 8 septembre 1852, jour de la fĂȘte de la nativitĂ© mais une crue de la SaĂŽne aurait empĂȘchĂ© la cĂ©rĂ©monie. La date dâinauguration est alors reportĂ©e au 8 dĂ©cembre 1852, jour de lâImmaculĂ©e Conception. Depuis cette date, chaque 8 dĂ©cembre au soir, les Lyonnais disposent sur le rebord de leurs fenĂȘtres des lumignons de couleur qui illuminent toute la ville.
