[http://www.moretonbayislands.com.au/default.aspx The islands of the bay] (Bribie Island, Moreton Island and North and South Stradbroke Islands) shelter this bay and beyond these islands begin the surf beaches; the [http://www.sunshinecoast.org/ Sunshine Coast] (Caloundra to Noosa) to the North of Bribie Island and the [http://www.verygc.com/ Gold Coast] (The Spit to Coolangatta) to the South beyond Straddie.

Further North is [http://www.fraserisland.net/ Fraser Island] and the rest of Queensland including the towns of Gympie, Maryborough, [http://www.couchsurfing.com/group.html?gid=8329 Bundaberg], [http://www.couchsurfing.com/group.html?gid=8330 Rockhampton], [http://couchwiki.org/en/Townsville_CS_Wiki Townsville], Mackay, [http://couchwiki.org/en/Cairns Cairns] and Mt. Isa as well as countless islands, [http://www.cultureandrecreation.gov.au/articles/greatbarrierreef/ The Great Barrier Reef], [http://www.burkeshirecouncil.com/gulf_history.htm The Gulf of Carpentaria] and [http://www.capeyorkinfo.org/ Cape York Peninsula].
