Location/Address: South side of Bloor, just east of Dovercourt Special/deal: veggie platter for two (giant!) <$10. Review: really really delicious Ethiopian food, delicious soft and stretchy injera (not sour and brittle like some places I could name!), generous helpings (not like other places I could also mention that are kind popular here) and did I mention two people eat a huge meal here for $10 including tax?

Mazz

Location/Address: 993 Bloor Street West - South side of Bloor, just west of Dovercourt Special/deal: whatever. Website/review: tasty sushi in a Korean/Japanese restaurant - all the meals come with salad, soup, congee, and some other (changing) appetizer. By the time your actual meal shows up you're practically full! Comments (if any): 15% discount if you pay cash. So, all you non-Canadian visitors: this means you don't have to calculate the tip, just pay the exact bill, in cash, and everyone's happy!!

Coffee Hut

Budda's Vegetarian Restaurant

The food is great and really inexpensive. Beware, serving sizes are huge. One dish can feed two starving foodies. Prices average around $7/dish. Food Type: Chinese Vegetarian (Stir fried noodles, rice, etc..)

Dumpling House

Location/Address: 328 Spadina Avenue Toronto, ON M5T 2E7 Special/deal: Dumplings 4.99 (12) -6.99 (18) Comments (if any): After the bad rap in the newspapers, they have changed their kitchen setup to get customers back in. Their dumplings are pretty good. You can't beat their prices. Interior is very plain. Food Type: Chinese (dumplings, noodles, rice)

Pho 88

Kensington market

At the patti shop (beside the chocolate addict) There are "Doubles" for 1.25 which are like roti with chana. Or like "jamaican wrap bread with curried chickpeas" Very Filling.

Also the bakeries have great treats for a dollar or two.

Kensington Kitchen

(not in kensington market) Bathurst and Bloor. Vegetarian and specialty bakery (gluten free). At the back there are 20 dishes and you can pick three. $4.99 for 400g and you can get soup too. Salad costs $1.50

Supermarket. Over runs and 2nds. North end of the city top of the subway line at Downsview Station. Take sheppard bus going west of the Downsview subway. Hagen Daz for .99 Cents and great organic cereal for .99 cents

Rice Bar

New Genereation Sushi

on Bloor east of Bathurst on the south side, 5.99 lunch and about 20 choices all come with soup and salad

I was looking everywhere and this ppoped up like nothing!

The Hare Krishna restaurant

in the temple at Dupont and Avenue Rd. is basically free or by donation - go to the basement it's self serve and all you can eat.

A wonderful job. Super heplful information.

Ghandi's

has East indian roti for 7 to 12 bucks and is extremely filling. Both are owned by the same guy and both are mucho excellente. They are both on Queen St.West eat of Bathurst Ghandi's is in the first block the next block over, before Portland. They are both on the nort side of the street.

Evergreen

serves Thai food. It's so good and they will change anything happily to accomidate your dietary restrictions. I have a lot of no's in mine and they are always great. Average main 5.50 to 7 bucks. It's located on Dundas St west between Bay and University closer to University on the south side. It's the cheapest Thai place I've found. I love the eggplant dish and emerald curry dish.

Ali Baba's

has multiple locations and deals.... Im familiar with their Lansdowne/Bloor location and the tuesday special, 2 falafels for 2.99 ! Cant beat that and their falafels are good and big, plus they have tons more selection at cheap cheap prices. Service is also friendly which makes it all the better... website

Kum Jug Yuen

Location: Mid-way down Spadina near Grossmans

Special/deal: You get free tea. And fruit for desert.

Comments: Cheap, tasty Chinese food, unpretentious. Open late.
